The “Liberated Zone” encampment was created at Cornell University on Thursday April 25. The encampment was created by the Pro-Palestine group Coalition for Mutual Liberation and it is intended to stay in place until Cornell agrees to their eight demands.

Students at Cornell University have set up an encampment on the Arts Quad at the university. According to a press release from The Coalition for Mutual Liberation, the group is "calling for Cornell to fully divest from companies that support the ongoing genocide in Gaza and end its close relationship with Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, with which it shares a campus in New York City."

Now that the parties have filed their final written arguments, U.S. Judge Glenn T. Suddaby of the Northern District of New York will rule on the dispositive motions. Applicable court rules do not mandate that the court decide the motions within a required time period. 
The lawsuit was filed against the college and Bryan Roberts, former associate dean of the Park School of Communications, in November 2023.

The student who filed a lawsuit against Ithaca College and a former associate dean for sexual harassment and Title IX violations in November 2023 filed a memorandum of law Feb. 12 in opposition to the Defendants’ motions to dismiss the case.
