Winter storm system delays travel back to Ithaca College

After a winter storm crippled much of the East Coast and severely hindered traffic on major roadways and delayed thousands of airline flights, many students returning for the spring semester were set back in their travels.

SGA bill to improve relationship between students and OPS

The Ithaca College Student Government Association passed a bill with the goal of mending relationships between the Office of Public Safety and Emergency Management and the student body. The bill, titled the PEACE bill, was passed at a Dec. 7 meeting. It was spurred by alleged incidents of aggression by Public Safety officers and subsequent protests over the racial climate at the college.

Faculty Council to choose reps for Shared Governance task force

The Ithaca College Board of Trustees asked the Faculty Council to pick two faculty members to serve on a task force evaluating the governance structure at the college.

Ithaca College plans event to list racial climate action steps

Following rallies about the racial climate on campus, Ithaca College will hold an event titled “Addressing Community Action on Racism and Cultural Bias,” which aims to list possible actions about this issue that could be undertaken immediately.
President Tom Rochon and Benjamin Rifkin, provost and vice president of educational affairs, met with 18  members of the POC at IC group 8 a.m. Oct. 23. The meeting comes after the group held a rally Oct. 21 protesting racism on campus.
