Nermeen Shaikh, broadcast news producer and co-host of “Democracy Now!,” spoke about the fallacies and distortions of mainstream media Oct. 3.
The discussion was led by Kristen Clarke, president and executive director of the National Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law.

The four recipients of the 10th annual Izzy Award from the Park Center for Independent Media — journalists Lee Fang, Sharon Lerner, Dahr Jamail and Todd Miller — were announced March 13.
Recipients at the 2017 Izzy Awards included independent journalists Ari Berman, Rick Rowley, Shane Bauer and Seth Freed Wessler.
