1. Peter Donovan, founder of the Soil Carbon Challenge, will give a presentation at 7 p.m. tonight in Textor 101. The Soil Carbon Challenge is an international competition to see how fast land managers can convert carbon into organic matter. The presentation is a part of the college’s Sustainability Speaker Series.
2. Stillwater Magazine will host “Read, Write, Improv Night” at 6 p.m. tonight in the Handwerker Gallery. Students can bring written pieces to present to the group or participate in the improv activities.

News: Kirsten Gillibrand, Democratic U.S. Senator from New York, visited Ithaca College on Feb. 3. Gillibrand’s visit was a part of her American Opportunity Agenda tour. Her address focused on equal pay across genders, a federal minimum wage increase and higher education accessibility. Read more about Gillibrand’s visit in this week’s News section.
Accent: Ithaca Hummus Company, owned and run by Cornell University student Chris Kirby, has been gaining popularity in Ithaca. Kirby began selling his tubs of hummus to Collegetown Bagels, GreenStar, Ithaca Bakery, Brookton’s Market and several other local businesses and eateries in September 2013. Sports: According to the National Collegiate Scouting Association, the recruiting process for Division III sports allows coaches to have unlimited contact with athletes and their parents following an athlete’s junior year of high school.
