The Ithaca College Student Governance Council met Feb. 5 to hear from Brian Peterson, director of Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), and Caryanne Keenan, director of New Student and Transition Programs (NSTP). The council also held confirmation for the committee that oversees student elections, the Class of 2026 Senator and the First-Generation Senator.

In honor of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, students and guests gathered in Emerson Suites and heard from Jewish Holocaust survivor Samuel Rind on Feb. 1.
The Ithaca College Student Leadership Institute and Ithaca College Hillel brought in Rind to share his personal story in relation to the Holocaust. Rind, who visited and spoke to students at the college in 2017, is a regular speaker on college campuses and across the Western New York area.

“Percy Jackson and the Olympians” is the long-awaited television series adaptation of the book series written by Rick Riordan. It stars Walker Scobell as Percy Jackson himself, Leah Jeffries as Annabeth Chase and Aryan Simhadri as Grover Underwood, with guest appearances from the likes of Lin Manuel Miranda, Jessica Parker Kennedy and Adam Copeland. The first episode aired on Disney+ on Dec. 19, 2023 with the finale airing on Jan. 30.

Some Ithaca College faculty and staff members are trying classroom response systems in their Spring 2024 classes through a pilot program conducted by the college’s Educational Technologies Advisory Committee.
The Defendants in the lawsuit, Ithaca College and Bryan Roberts, both filed motions on Jan. 22 seeking to dismiss all or a majority of the claims in the original complaint.
In an email sent to the campus community late Jan. 22, a Public Safety Alert was issued notifying the campus about reported burglaries and criminal trespasses that the Office of Public Safety and Emergency Management are currently investigating.
For his final episode of the season, host first-year student Logan Thompson reviews the comedy/drama Netflix film with sophomore Michael Mahtesian to discuss the actors' performances and the audience's perception of the true crime genre. Thompson continues with a recap of his favorite films of 2023 and movies he is anticipating in 2024.
