This week, my dinners will consist of bowls filled with salads. Now that I’m back on campus and separated from my family cooking, it’s time to recalibrate; and why not do that with a challenge.
Through the weekly challenges, I’ve found that it is easier to stay away from the foods I say ‘no’ to the week after the challenge. You and your body get used to not seeing french-fries on your plate, or root beer in your cups as much as before.
The dining halls are filled with ice cream, pies, cookies and cakes everyday. If they’re all ready for me to pick up and eat them, how am I supposed to say no? Well this week, that’s all I am allowing myself to say.
Living here also means that we are lucky enough to have constant and clean connections to water. So, let's utilize it! This week, I challenge myself and everyone to drink water as their only beverage.
