On the way to a perfect 7—0 start in Empire 8 Conference play, the women’s basketball team has been able to build huge leads before any fans have gotten comfortable in their seats.
The women’s basketball team is opening its season with a challenging non-conference schedule to prepare itself for a late-season stretch run of Empire 8 Conference games.
After posting a 15–1 record in Empire 8 Conference play last season, the women’s basketball team will feature a bigger and deeper cast of forwards who should make them even stronger contenders this season.
Having fallen short in last year’s Empire 8 Conference tournament championship game, the women’s basketball team will embark on a journey to win its first conference tournament since 2007.
Leadership is a quality displayed best by the mature and experienced, and this holds true for the seniors of the women’s basketball team, not just this season but for their entire careers while wearing the Blue and Gold.
Point guards in basketball are often described as many things: a floor general, a ball-handler and a playmaker. This season junior transfer point guard Jacqueline Shinall has been all of the above for the women’s basketball team.
