What’s happening this weekend
The events you won’t want to miss
1. The IC Jazz Ensemble will perform at 8:15 p.m. Friday in Ford Hall. Conducted by Mike Titlebaum, assistant professor of music performance, the performance will also live stream here.
2. Auditions for The Vagina Monologues will be from 2–4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in Friends Hall, room 203. Students interested should attend an audition either Saturday or Sunday.
3. IC Voicestream will have its Block II concert at 8 p.m. Saturday in Emerson Suites.
4. Active Minds is sponsoring a silent art auction at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Community School of Music and Arts. The auction will feature readings from the group’s publication, “The Mirror,” and all proceeds will go toward the printing of its second annual issue.

News: This academic year, 52 institutions of higher education in the U.S. froze or cut their tuitions. Elmira College, located about 30 miles from Ithaca, froze its tuition for the 2013–14 year and for the 2014–15 year. Ithaca College has announced it will not freeze tuition but rather work to keep operational costs down to prevent significant tuition increases.
Accent: Ron Jude, associate professor in the Department of Media Arts, Sciences and Studies, released his most recent work Nov. 14 in an internationally collaborative photobook. TIME magazine chose his work as one of the best photography books of 2013. Check out a Q-and-A with Jude here.
Sports: The football team’s 2013 season is over and with a 9–3 overall record, an Empire 8 championship and a fourth-straight loss in the Cortaca Jug. The question remains, does the 2013 season signal a return to national ranking for the Bombers?
