Alexis Manore named next editor in chief of The Ithacan

Junior Alexis Manore began working at The Ithacan her freshman year as the Student Governance Council beat reporter. She has also served as an assistant news editor during the 2019–20 academic year and news editor during the 2020–21 academic year.

Ithaca College junior Alexis Manore, who has a double major in journalism and politics, has been named the next editor in chief of The Ithacan for the 2021–22 academic year.

Manore was the only candidate interviewed for the position in a Zoom meeting April 3 with the Board of Publications. The Board made the recommendation for her appointment to Jack Powers, interim dean of the Roy H. Park School of Communications, who accepted and appointed Manore to the position.

Manore began working at The Ithacan her freshman year as the Student Governance Council beat reporter. She has also served as an assistant news editor during the 2019–20 academic year and news editor during the 2020–21 academic year.

She has also worked at The Town Crier, a local newspaper in New Hartford, New York.
