As of the 2024–25 academic year, there are 425 colleges and universities that fall under the NCAA’s Division III for athletics. Among those schools, 147 have female directors of athletics, which represents the highest ratio across every division in the NCAA.

The St. John Fisher University Cardinals’ relentless march to the free-throw line proved to be the dagger for the Ithaca College women’s basketball team, as the Cardinals cashed in on 79% of their 34 attempts to secure a hard-fought 73-67 victory.

It was truly a great day to be a Bomber as the No. 22 Ithaca College volleyball team on Nov. 16 dismantled the William Smith Herons for their third straight Liberty League title in three sets by scores of 25-10, 25-15 and 25-15.
Dr. Ellen J. Staurowsky is a sports media professor at Ithaca College's Roy H. Park School of Communications. Staurowsky has dedicated much of her career to leveling the playing field for women in sports.

It’s about the size of the fight in the dog.” That was the theme Nov. 13 as an undersized yet scrappy Ithaca College men’s basketball squad defended the Ben Light Gymnasium in their home opener against its rival, the SUNY Cortland Red Dragons.
