Group Exercise #3: Yoga

There are appealing and unappealing sides to yoga for me: Meditation that I can relax with, and using stamina that I simply do not have yet.

On Sunday, my friends and I decided to stretch out from Saturday’s BODYPUMP, and getting mentally ready for the week ahead.  Walking into the aerobics room, we were told to roll out a mat, get two blocks, a strap and a blanket.  At the front of the room is Peony; the soft spoken student instructor that brings participants through a series of breathing exercises and poses for strength.

The best thing about this specific class was that I wasn’t ‘crying’ from my lack of strength in any pose.  You don’t need to be flexible or strong – just willing to rest, stay quiet, and be guided through meditation to relax.

I highly recommend it to start your week, or procrastinate until you have to sit down and do your homework Sunday night.
